Expert witness reports
Independent manual handling expert witness reports addressing injury circumstances, hazardous manual tasks and the adequacy of systems of work. Available for Victoria, NSW and Australia-wide file review.
Solicitors, insurers, claims managers and medico-legal agencies instruct for objective opinion on manual handling incidents, lift/push/pull/carry demands, and whether systems of work were reasonably practicable. WorkSafe-related instructions are welcome directly or through your preferred medico-legal agency.
You receive a structured expert witness report on the papers (and, where arranged, after examination). The report responds to your letter of instruction, reviews the brief, and provides an independent opinion on mechanism, task demands, risk controls and related questions.
The assessment weighs the available records against known hazardous manual task risk factors — force, repetition, posture, duration and environment — and comments on controls that were or could reasonably have been in place. Speculation beyond the brief is avoided.
Reports are prepared by Elton Smith: AHPRA-registered physiotherapist · Cert IV OHS · Diploma of Quality Auditing · Business compliance · Diploma of WHS (in progress) · WorkSafe Victoria approved IME · 27 years’ clinical / occupational rehabilitation / workplace injury experience. Typical turnaround is about two weeks from a complete brief. Independent Medical Examinations are clinic-based in Melbourne; most expert witness opinions are file review and can be instructed across Victoria, NSW and Australia-wide.
